Beyond Everest September Virtual Challenge

3rd September 2020 – 30th September 2020

“Climbing Everest is seen as the pinnacle of human endurance and over 3 days, 12 hours each day, Thursday September 3rd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th, Bryce Alford, Fundraising Manager for Headway Jersey, The Brain Injury Charity will be taking on this epic challenge by going Beyond Everest with the goal of reaching 10,000m+ of elevation over the steepest hills, cliff path and castle steps in Jersey and aiming to raise £10,000 to help keep Headway alive.

Open to all ages, from the 3rd and throughout September, you can run or walk, climb the stairs at home or at work, set the incline on the treadmill at the gym, or perhaps explore new locations whilst on a dog walk to challenge yourself whilst Reaching Higher For Headway.

Every metre you gain in elevation throughout the month will take you closer to earning your unique Beyond Everest wooden medal and e-certificate.
For starters perhaps you might aim for Mount Snowdon, Wales, UK with an elevation of 1,085m?
Here’s a simple way for you to achieve this goal.
A flight of stairs at home is approximately 3m in elevation. If you were to ascend 10 x a day for the 28 days you would achieve 840m of elevation.
Add to this 1 long walk or a short run a week of a few inclines and you will have achieved your goal!

How high are you prepared to climb?

The choice is yours and here are just a few of the mountains around the World for you to set your sights on!
