Previous experience

No prior abseiling experience is necessary to participate in this challenge.

Please note that abseiling requires a modest level of fitness and flexibility, as you will have to navigate railings, climb steep inclines and conquer 200 steps within the castle.

Mandatory training session

Ahead of your castle abseil, you will be required to undertake a 2 hour training session on Saturday 30th March 2024 at St. Catherine’s Breakwater to familiarise yourself with the equipment, this will include a cliff-face abseil. This training session is mandatory for all participants, even if you have abseiled before.

Please note that if you do not attend the training session, you will not be permitted to participate in the castle abseil on Sunday 31st March 2024.

Fundraising commitment

As spaces are limited and due to the costs associated with running this event, we ask that each participant commits to a minimum fundraising target of £100. This will greatly contribute to Headway Jersey being able to continue to provide free support, information and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

All fundraising must be submitted by Monday 25th March 2024. In the event of a shortfall, the participant is responsible for covering the difference.

Upon registration, you will receive a personalised RaceNation online fundraising page link for easy sharing. For those preferring a paper sponsorship form, please email fundraising@headway.org.je.
