Anna Goncalves, a dedicated ambassador for Headway Jersey, is set to undertake her next extraordinary challenge in support of the charity. Anna will compete in the Ultra Race Romania on 5th August 2024, a gruelling 250km (155 miles) self-supported race. This demanding event requires competitors to cover the distance over six stages, carrying all necessary supplies for survival throughout the week.
Anna, who has been an integral part of Headway Jersey’s mission for approximately 10 years, has a remarkable track record of fundraising for the charity. Since being involved with the charity, she has raised over £150,000 through various challenges. Anna first became involved with the charity when a family member suffered a major head injury some time ago.
In preparation for this ultra race, Anna has not only been rigorously training but also organising fundraising events such as cake sales to boost her sponsorship efforts. Her goal is to raise a minimum of £2,000 for Headway Jersey with the help of her employer, Barclays, who will match every pound raised through their pound-for-pound scheme, up to £1,000.
Anna is no stranger to intense challenges, having completed numerous marathons and ultra-endurance events. Her relentless spirit and unwavering support for Headway Jersey exemplify her deep commitment to the charity. Her remarkable achievements stand as a testament to the power of perseverance and serves as a beacon of inspiration to all.
